Direction to Lively
We are in building 4.  This is a one-story building.  If you are coming from Tennessee Ave make a left on Appleyard Drive.  Take your first entrance on the right coming into Lively.  Follow the yellow line.  You will pass two gates. The first gate is a guardhouse and nobody’s in it.  After the second gate you will see Building 4.  Make a left and then your first right, which is a one-way street. Go through it, it’s OK.  I am in the middle of this long Building 4.  My door will be open.  My office phone is 467-7439 or 545-5950.  I’ll see you on Thursday.  aj

The August meeting of the Tallahassee Professional Photographers Guild will be held on August 21st at 6pm at Lively Technical College. The meeting cost is $25. The speaker will be AJ Alberra, demonstrating special effects in Photoshop.

All members attending the meeting are required to submit a print for “Print of the Month”, or must pay a $1 penalty at the meeting. Prints should be 8×10 and can be entered into any of the following categories: portrait of a man, portrait of a woman, portrait of a child, portrait of a family, special occasion, other, restoration, or album. All prints must be entered before 6:30 for judging.

Wall Portraits were once only for the rich and famous. Centuries ago everyone wanted to preserve their likeness for future generations and commissioned the best painters. Today through the art of photography everyone has the ability to have a wall portrait in his or her home.

Through years of perfecting his craft, Pepito has created a style and marketing plan that has made him one of the premier portrait photographers in his area. He will share with you all his experience in creating and developing the masterpiece wall portrait. Read More »

Super Monday, Fall 2008

Super Monday: Fall 2008

Super Monday is back and ready to help photographers around the country gain new skills, revive and learn new techniques, and more. And now it’s easier than ever to choose your classes with the new, online class brochure.

Around October 27, 2008, studios open their doors and share their knowledge—on a wide variety of topics. These intimate, in-depth classes are only $99 if you pre-register by October 13. Remember, now you can do everything online:

You’ll come back with much more—more friends, more business knowledge, and more skills—so get ready for Super Monday!

(Please note: The brochure download is about 5MB. If you have trouble opening it in your browser, try right-clicking on the link and saving it to your computer.)

Instructors Needed for 2009

Volunteer to share your knowledge at one of PPA’s most successful educational initiatives. Proceeds from Super Monday support PPA’s education programs, and instructors earn two speaking merits toward a PPA degree. Submit your form by October 1 for inclusion in the April 20, 2009 program or by May 2, 2008 for inclusion in the October 26, 2009 Super Monday Program. Be a Super Monday Instructor.

What is Super Monday?

Super Monday is PPA’s peer-led education program. Each spring and fall, professional photographers volunteer to instruct their fellow photographers. Topics include: posing & lighting, workflow, Photoshop, weddings, senior portraits, business, marketing, and more. Proceeds from the program support PPA’s non-profit education, copyright, and advocacy initiatives.

Are you attending this year convention? Are you excited about the new location? Do you feel something is missing in your life if you don’t have a camera in your hand? Well then, The PHOTOGRAPHIC COMMITTEE is looking for you!!! I love to take pictures. In fact this is my third year on the committee and we are looking for 3-4 more fun loving photographers to help out. This year I have set-up to take care of all the EDITING. That’s right, all you have to do is SHOOT!. Then just download the pictures on my laptop and I will do the rest. HEY, all the fun with none of the post production (wish my weddings worked like that). Also, this is a great way to earn a Service Merit for your Service Award or Masters. Hmm, take pictures, earn a merit, and have fun doing what I love. That works for me, how about you. If you are interested please E-mail me Chris Toolen at: ALLURINGIMAGE@YAHOO.COM or call me (407) 468-7071. Read More »
