The November TPPG Meeting will be held at the Keller Williams Office on November 19th at 6pm.

Newsletter RESIZED

October’s Tallahassee Professional Photographer’s Guild meeting will be held on Thursday, October 22nd at 6 p.m. at Keller Williams Real Estate (map).  Please plan to come, as October’s meeting will be very important, we’ll be:

Conducting a general meeting and discussing the 2010 board members: President-Elect, Cindy Strickland, will announce next year’s board and asking for nominations for two Members at Large.  We will be VOTING on next year’s board, so please plan to attend.

Reviewing the survey results: Your time spent on the survey was certainly appreciated and the board would like to share our first impressions with you.  Cindy Strickland will be putting together some ideas based on the surveys that you’ll want to hear.

Having a mini-print critique: One item of particular interest in the survey was the membership’s questions about print competition and salon.  After reviewing the survey results, the board feels that maybe the rules and standards are not clear.  We will spend some time at this month’s meeting having a round-table discussion about the state and local rules and looking at some images from this year’s state competition.  We will talk about what makes a merit print and what doesn’t and tell you what the judges said about some of the images from photographers who did well (and not so well) at state.  Competing at the local and state level is exciting but daunting, so we hope to take some of the mystery out of it all.

Print Competition: We will have print competition as usual this month.  Please submit your images!  Entries must be presented on 11×14 or smaller paper with 8×10 being the standard size. If you have any questions whatsoever, please feel free to contact Cindy, our Print Competition Chair:   cindy@amomentcaptured.com

This month’s Tallahassee Professional Photographer’s Guild meeting will be held on Thursday, August 27th at 6 p.m. at Keller Williams Real Estate (map) with Carrie Viohl of Studio Viohl as our speaker. Hope you can make it!

Mark your calendars for future Guild Meetings: September 24, October 22, and November 19. Details for the Annual Holiday Party coming soon.
